Out of a profile with Total Film (via The Playlist), actress Olga Kurylenko recently brought to light some rather interesting news.

According to the actress, she has been in contact with Danish shock director, Lars von Trier.  Well, von Trier is currently looking for a female lead for his upcoming sci-fi, psychological disaster film, MELANCHOLIA.  Could she be looking at the lead role in that film? Is there something else von Trier has up his sleeve? Charlotte Gainsbourg was hinted as being in the lead for that role, and while we don’t know the extent to which these talks went, Kurylenko has caught the eyes of directors like Terrence Malick, so there must be something these great directors see in the woman from HITMAN and MAX PAYNE.

Speaking of her work with Malick, the actress apparently auditioned for the role in Malick's upcoming untitled film without speaking:

"[The audition] was mute. I spent an hour doing five different scenes that he had described. I had to say nothing. It was all in the eyes. Can you believe that? That was difficult, believe me."

Well, it seemed to work, as the actress will star along side Christian Bale and Rachel McAdams in the still untitled film. Malick's film is a romance piece, and knowing that Kurylenko had to do more than just read lines, has me quite interested into just what Malick is looking for with this project.  TREE OF LIFE should be hitting this year, so here's to hoping that we get to see this sooner, rather than later.
