Oh, Oliver Stone, I sure hope you know what you’re doing here.

According to The NY Post (hat tip to THR), Justin Timberlake and Zac Efron are currently looking at hopping aboard a big screen adaptation of the massively popular musical, Memphis. The pair have been spotted at performances of the show, which has lead many people to believe that they are eyeing the role of DJ Huey Calhoun, in the story which is based on the life DJ Dewey Phillips, one of the first DJs to openly play black music.

That’s not all. More info, after the jump.

The Playlist is reporting that Oliver Stone is currently in talks to helm the film. He has met with the show’s scribes, Joe DiPietro and David Bryan, with the hopes of getting their go ahead to direct the film.

Personally, while I don’t like either of the two actors getting cast here, I can’t help but love the idea of Oliver Stone hopping aboard this film. The film will undoubtedly garner a lot of attention from A-list thespians, so hopefully we will get a few better names to get attached to the film.

More on this project as it comes.
