Orlando Bloom confirmed for THE HOBBIT
There was once a time, not that long ago, when Orlando Bloom had for a better word a blossoming career. Now with roles like that in Paul W.S. Anderson's THE THREE MUSKETEERS, playing what I imagine was described as an "Orlando Bloom type" not actually intended for the actor himself, he seems to have spiraled down a bit. However, he is returning to the role that made his career and possibly making his way back up the mountain from the bottom.
This straight from the Facebook of director Peter Jackson, who said today:
"Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I'm excited to announce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older—and he doesn’t! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."
That and those long, golden flowing locks. Bloom joins returning cast members Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, and Ian Holm.
Along with THE HOBBIT and THE THREE MUSKETEERS, he's got a few smaller projects lined up including THE LAUREATE, IDEA IN AMERICA, AND LOLA VERSUS.
