UPDATE: Turns out that Midnight Meat Train may be going straight to DVD in Cananda but not in America. As far as we know, Midnight Meat Train will hit U.S. theaters August 1st.

The latest film adaptation of Horror Master Clive Barker’s work, Midnight Meat Train, will be going straight to DVD. The film’s trailer first appeared in movie theaters months ago, but the movies release kept being pushed back, and now Lionsgate has made it official that the film will not be making a trip to the cineplex.

Midnight Meat Train marks Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura’s first Ameican film. The film stars Bradley Cooper as a photographer who witnesses some strange incidents involving murder on a subway. Mr. Cooper may be best remembered for playing Rachel McAdam’s scumbag boyfriend in Wedding Crashers.

The DVD release date for Midnight Meat Train has not yet been set.

If the title of this book does not convince you to read it, then I don’t know what will, but I’ve already reserved my copy. Seagalogy: A Study of the Ass-Kicking Films of Steven Seagal is a book by AICN film critic Vern, and here’s what it’s going to give us:

“an in-depth study of the world’s only aikido instructor turned movie star/director/writer/blues guitarist/energy drink inventor — the ass-kicking auteur Steven Seagal. From Above the Law to his Mountain Dew commercials, his entire career is covered in Vern’s inimitable style.

As Vern himself puts it, Seagalogy is “a book that will shake the very foundations of film criticism, break their wrists and then throw them through a window.”

Click HERE to head over to Amazon to pre-order your copy now. It hits shelves May 20th.

I’m almost certain you don’t know who Robert Blecker is. If you do, then you aren’t reading this because Robert’s hightlights in life include teaching at a law school in New York and visiting death row inmates. He’s an avid supporter of the death penalty. I got to interview him for the documentary made about his awkward friendship with death row inmate Daryl Holton called Robert Blecker wants me dead. Some spoilers are told in this, but I’m sure you know what happens to an inmate sitting on death row.

In the next few weeks, I’m going to be feeding you with as much information on Mister Lonely as I can because 1) it’s a great film, and 2) we interviewed Harmony and he was incredible nice, so it’s the least we could do.

Today, the Official Mister Lonely MySpace was launched with release dates and clips from the film. The one below shows Diego Luna’s Michael Jackson performing a “motivational” skit at an elderly home when he meets Samantha Morton’s Marilyn Monroe for the first time. It’s brilliant.

Jason Bateman has just signed on to star in Beavis and Butthead creater Mike Judge’s new film, Extract. The film will be directed by Judge, and distrubited by Miramax. Hopefully, Extract will be appearing in more theaters than Judge’s last film, Idiocracy, which due to concerns by Fox was only released in six markets.

Bateman will be playing the boss of a flower extract plant, who is dealing with various personal professional problems in his life. Sounds like Extract has the potential to be a little more dramatic than most of Judge’s films and TV shows.

Mike Judge can be heard every sunday night as the voice of Hank Hill on Fox’s King of the Hill. Jason Bateman is continuing to do very well for himself after the unfortunate cancellation of Arrested Development and can be next seen the superhero comedy film, Hancock, in which Bateman is a publicist for an unlikeable superhero played by Will Smith.

Mystery Science Theater was way ahead of their time. Created by Joel Hodgson, the showed centered on a man, his robot sidekicks, and their hilarious commentary on awful B-movies. Enough about that, you already know who they are.

This is a last minute post, but it’s incredibly important. The boys/gal behind MYT3000 will be doing a LIVE “riffing” tonight at the Angelika. They are keeping the movie top secret, but it will be a good time for the fans of the show. Tickets are $25 (I know), and you can get them by going to the Angelika and buying them from the USA Film Festival booth. See you there!

Also, we got to interview them this morning. That will be posted sometime this week. Yeah!

If you’re not up to par, Uwe Boll, the man who has ruined every film he’s touched, made not so nice comments about Michael Bay, and Michael Bay struck back. Now Boll wants to show his 3 fans and 9,345,839,482,390 people against him that violence is always the answer. He has challenged Michael Bay to a real boxing match on Pay-Per-View. Click HERE to watch the video, or read below:

“Hi, here’s Uwe Boll and you see my outfit so you know what’s coming up now basically. Michael Bay responded to my note about him in a very insulting way for me. He said that he doesn’t care about me and this was very insulting because I care about him and I think that with the money he has for his movies, he sucks big time. I think it’s time to meet in the ring actually.
So it’s my message to Michael Bay, Michael, in between your pool parties in LA or your casting sessions with the strippers you should start training now. And I’m sure you look good, you look thin. I saw you at the Hollywood Film Festival, I think you’re a fit guy and you do like private karate Asia bullshit crap fighting stuff in LA where you think you’re super cool that you do that with your 500 bucks per hour trainer.
So let’s meet in the ring in September or October. Pay-per-view. Mandalay Bay. Las Vegas. Twelve rounds of boxing. Boll against Bay.
It’s also independent against the studio system and I think that this day in Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas we will clear it up who is not only the better director who is also able to fight more for that what he wants.
OK Michael, if you see that message I expect that your people contacting me, it will be all arranged. We even make money with it, and so let’s go for it. Boll against Bay. It’s on.”

This is for real. Remember last year when Wesley Snipes got busted for not paying his taxes? Well, it came to bite him in the ass… hard. The vampire ass kicking badass was sentenced yesterday to serve three years (maximum requested by federal prosecutors) in prison for the thee misdemeanor counts of not filing his taxes.

Assistant Attorney General Nathan J. Hochman of the Justice Department’s Tax Division said “Snipes’ long prison sentence should send a loud and crystal clear message to all tax defiers that if they engage in similar tax defier conduct, they face joining him.

Also,
Actors Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson, as well as television judges Joe Brown and Greg Mathis, submitted letters to the judge on Snipes’ behalf.
