Who would have thought that Hollywood could merge their top three money making gimmicks into one film? Sequels, horror remakes, and the new kid in class…3D. Oh, he’s so popular with his cool glasses and the effect he has on all the films in school!

Paramount is moving ahead on RING 3D, the third film in the horror series that centers around a mysterious VHS tape that brings forth the evil spirit of a young girl named Samara  seven days after its watched. The studio has hired screenwriter David Loucka (writer of the upcoming thriller DREAM HOUSE starring Rachel Weisz, Daniel Craig, and RING alumnus Naomi Watts) to pen the story, which is said to be more teen driven and aim to revamp the series.

No word yet on what exactly the story will center around but Heat Vision is reporting “one potential scenario involves teens finding a VHS player that still works.” Attempt to read that and not take it as smart assery!
