Paul Feig and Judd Apatow to reteam for Universal project
Color me not even shocked at all. If "shocked" is a color, it's magenta. I am more of a light peach, much like the color of, I don't know, a BRIDESMAIDS dress? Bad opening on my part or not, it looks like at least part of the BRIDESMAIDS team is set to get back together for another property for Universal.
Deadline reports that Universal Pictures has "just made a preemptive acquisition of an original comic pitch that will re-team [BRIDESMAIDS] director, Paul Feig, with BRIDESMAIDS producer Judd Apatow." The film will be written and directed by Feig from his own idea, billed as "an unconventional love story" that he's been cooking up for awhile now. There is no confirmation if this is the same project that Feig is said to be developing for BRIDESMAIDS' show-stealer Melissa McCarthy but, come on, it sounds like it.
Beyond whatever this new project is, expect much more from the BRIDESMAIDS team, especially considering the film has grossed over $100 million at the domestic box office. Oh, my goodness! Who knew women could be funny?! Wait, I did.
