With his next film, THE SKIN THAT I INHABIT, set for a possible premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, director Pedro Almodovar has finally found his next project.

Screen Daily has revealed (via The Playlist), that Almodovar will be helming a biopic of famed Italian singer, Mina. Entitled MINA, the film will be based off of a novel penned by Paolo Limiti, and will follow the controversial life of the songstress.

SKIN is currently finishing up post-production with a bow at Cannes likely, but not confirmed. With that said, while this may seem like a much more conventional film for the director, it is one that I can’t wait for. I am a huge fan of the director, and at this point, I’ll be down for any and everything the director gets his hand on. He’s one of film’s most interesting filmmakers, and has been for years now, so hopefully this is just yet another piece of proof showing that.
