Penelope Cruz joins THE COUNSELOR
This may just be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
With a cast including Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, The Hollywood Reporter hints that Ridley Scott’s upcoming film THE COUNSELOR has just gotten a bit sultrier with the possible inclusion of Penelope Cruz. Apparently she is in talks to join the film, penned by Cormac McCarthy, and is allegedly going to take on the role of the lead’s love interest, Laura.
While this is inherently exciting and fantastic, it does leave one question: The assumption was that this role was to be Jolie's, were she to get involved. All signs point to her being aboard the project, so who knows who she’ll end up playing in the picture. Overall, this is great news and the cast is shaping up to be stellar. Coupled with McCarthy’s script and an absolute crackerjack bit of thriller writing, THE COUNSELOR is on its way to becoming one of the most talked about projects on the planet.
