Penelope Cruz to star in Woody Allen’s upcoming Rome-set film
With his next film, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, set to premiere as the opening night film at this year’s upcoming Cannes Film Festival, director Woody Allen is slowly getting the wheels going on his next film.
During an interview with EW, actress Penelope Cruz revealed that she will be involved with the film, saying that “I know [what I’m doing next], but the thing is that I have to ask the director what I can say and what I cannot say…Because he’s very secretive. It’s…it’s a movie with Woody Allen. But I really cannot say anything about the story or the characters.”
The film will reportedly be taking place in Rome, and that’s about as much as we know about the film at this point. Allen will also be showing his face on the big screen in this film, so while details are scarce, this is shaping up to be quite an interesting little project. Allen has been on somewhat of a roll as of late (sans WHATEVER WORKS), so this could be a really great film, at least if films like VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA are to be believed.
