PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES delayed?

John Mulhern

I'm just as curious about the next PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN film as the next guy, and can't wait for the day that it hits theaters. This sentiment is built off the notion that ON STRANGER TIDES will be very Jack Sparrow-centric and, let's face it, he's the best part of the series.

Unfortunately, now it is very possible that we might have to wait even longer to get the film; can't it catch a break?Supposedly, Johnny Depp is tired after wrapping on THE TOURIST with Angelina Jolie, and is looking to take a little break before having another long, grueling shoot. Since PIRATES was set to start shooting this month, that could cause some tension.

The real issue of the delay comes into question because if Depp takes a break, then there would not be proper time to work on post-production of the film and still hit the announced May 20, 2011 release date. A film like PIRATES would have a lot of post-production work to do, and it is crucial they have the time they need.

What do you guys think, is it worth the wait?
