Poster for THE GREAT GATSBY underwhelms
UPDATE: Well, I guess the poster is underwhelming because it is a fan made poster. As you were.
While most people may not be all that enamored by the work of one Baz Luhrmann, this writer could not be a bigger fan of his work, ranging from STRICTLY BALLROOM to even the rather underrated romance epic AUSTRALIA. However, when one sees a pile of mediocrity, it’s hard not to call it out as such.
The new poster for THE GREAT GATSBY has hit, and I must say, it’s not all that entrancing.
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, and is based on the novel from F. Scott Fitzgerald, and while the poster itself may be a hazey bit of uninspired slop, the film is still very much intriguing. The cast is great, and if there was ever a director who could do this lavish time period right, it’s Luhrmann. A true visual giant, Luhrmann has a solely distinct sense of style, and one that could do this project wonders.
