My fanboy senses are tingling. This can mean only one of two things: There is a new LOST episode or something is happening in the world of SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. Today (since it's only Monday) it has to be SCOTT PILGRIM news!

As fans of the popular comic book series by Brian Lee O'Malley know, the big screen adaptation of SCOTT PILGRIM is coming soon to cinemas across the world. Furthermore, fans of SCOTT PILGRIM know that the music of the comics is just as important as anything else. Well, allow me to quench your thirsts for anything SP with the debut of the first track off of the SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD soundtrack. And yes, it's one of the songs The Clash at Demonhead will be playing! Check out the details after the jump....

The Facebook fan page for the band Metric dropped the track that they will be lending to SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. Edgar Wright (the film's awesome director) approached the band and asked if they would be interested in laying down a track for The Clash at Demonhead to play in the movie.

"It just so happened that we had the beginnings of a song that suited the project perfectly...and the song became a pivotal track in the movie."

For those not akin to the world of SCOTT PILGRIM (get with it). The band The Clash at Demonhead is fronted by Scott's former bandmate and ex-girlfriend Envy Adams (Brie Larson) who comes to town after hitting it big. Some of the craziest scenes in the comics come from encounters with The Clash at Demonhead and this song is sure to amp up the energy of those scenes.

You can check it out at the band Metric's official Facebook fan page. Warning: Must become a "fan"of the band before you can check it out. Trust me, it's worth it.

This is fantastic news. Metric has been one of my favorite bands since I first heard Old World Underground in 2003. Their other albums Live It Out and last year's Fantasies are both excellent and worth checking out if you like this song “Black Sheep.”
