Sometimes, some stories make me really love doing what I do. This is one of them.

In this world of viral videos with cats turning into pastries and nut shots, one of the true stars of the internet world has become that now famous fifth grade choir from a Staten Island based public school, the PS22 Chorus.

And now, that very group is Oscar bound.

Oscar host Anne Hathaway, and the show’s producer Bruce Cohen, recently dropped by the groups Winter Concert, and announced that the group was going to be performing at the upcoming Oscar event (via The Playlist). Now, while what they will exactly be doing has not been announced yet, I would have to guess that they’ll be performing the Best Original Song nominees, either singularly as a group, or with each song’s original performer.

However, whatever it entails will be an absolute wonder. This is an immensely talented group of youngsters, and will definitely be a breath of fresh air from what will likely be a stuffy telecast. The Oscars will be held on February 27, 2011.
