Issue #8 of Kick Ass finally hit shelves at the tail end of January and the wrap up of the story about a group of vigilante superheros did not deliver quite the finishing blow it should have. Best known for his work on Wanted and the daringly bold Superman: Red Son, writer Mark Millar pulled a few punches that beg the question, did he do it on purpose? Seeing how the film version starring Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Cage and Chloe Moretz was up and running before the comic had barely even started, is it conceivable that Millar didn't want to spoil the ending of director Matthew Vaugn's KICK-ASS?

Regardless, with this new red band trailer for the film, it's almost safe to assume that the resulting piece of pop pulp celluloid has a good chance of knocking out the original source material, ultimately becoming the better representation of the material. After all, film is the more kinetic of the two mediums and after seeing and hearing the jackknife action and downright explicit dialogue on display in this new trailer, it's not an insult to the comic to think that this story is about to take its rightful place on the big screen.
