Rachel Weisz and Emily Blunt to lead HUMPDAY director Lynn Shelton’s next
Coming off the rather superb indie dramedy, HUMPDAY, apparently director Lynn Shelton has a bit more leverage when it comes to garnering a cast.
Deadline is reporting that Emily Blunt and Rachel Weisz will star in the upcoming, yet to be titled follow-up to Shelton’s HUMPDAY, which will follow a pair of sisters in Shelton’s patented semi-improvised Mumblecore style.
Personally, while it didn’t quite hit with as many people as you would have expected, I adored HUMPDAY, a film that just barely missed out on joining my top 10 films of last year. Shelton is a massively talented filmmaker and how can you argue with the casting of two immensely talented thespians along with her as the director. Weisz in particular has not only become one of the hottest names in Hollywood (with roles in films like the upcoming 360 and DREAM HOUSE), but is genuinely considered by many, including this writer, as one of the best actresses alive.
Plot details are scarce, but who really cares when you have this kind of talent behind it.
