Raimi producing REFUGE
Sam Raimi has done quite a bit of horror film producing in recent years with films like 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, BOOGEYMAN, and the upcoming PRIEST. Well, the director of the EVIL DEAD and SPIDERMAN films has signed on to produce another horror film with REFUGE.
REFUGE will be a monster movie steeped in folklore, as it will be about a town under attack by a Yeti (basically, an Abominable Snowman). The film will be directed Corin Hardy (making his feature film debut with REFUGE), who will be working with a screenplay by Tom De Ville, who has done some writing and directing for TV. REFUGE will be produced by Jason Blum, Nathan Kahane, and Steven Schneider. In order to “refine [Hardy's] vision,” a short film based on the REFUGE plot will be made prior to work on the feature.
We have really not had any decent Abominable Snowman movies, so hopefully REFUGE can help fill that void.
