RED RIDING HOOD behind-the-scenes look
I'm glad we are returning to the time when fairy tales had teeth. The Red Riding Hood story has always been one that retained some of its Gothic roots and, as the big-screen adaptation gets underway, it's looking to be a good one. The film, to be called RED RIDING HOOD, will be directed by TWILIGHT director Catherine Hardwicke from a script by CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 and ORPHAN scribe David Johnson.
Courtesy of Screen Rant, we have for you some behind-the-scenes images from the shoot that is underway in Vancouver, Canada. The photos feature the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Michael Shanks, Lukas Haas, Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie, Shiloh Fernandez, and Michael Hogan. Two of the most noteworthy things about these pictures are the horns that protrude from Seyfried's head adornment (see above) and the purple cloak that Oldman is wearing. That thing is really purple. Oldman plays the role of Father Soloman, a man whose job is to find and kill the werewolf. He certainly looks to be comfortable with his manhood in all that purple. I would see Oldman in just about anything, so purple cloak and a Gothic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood has got me completely sold on this one. Check out some of the set photos after the jump.
The IMDb synopsis of the film is as follows:
"Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure."
RED RIDING HOOD is scheduled for a March 11, 2011 release.
