RESIDENT EVIL proves to have an AFTERLIFE
If you’re a fan of the RESIDENT EVIL games like I am, you’re probably a little more forgiving towards the films than most other movie-watchers. Sure, they don’t really have much in common with the games, other than a basic idea and a few characters showing up, but it’s still great to see a live action version of the games that were such a blast to play at home alone on a Friday night in the dark.
Now the news is out that a fourth film in the franchise is in development and has a target release date of September 17, 2010. Shock Till You Drop confirms that an internal memo is circulating Sony studios to get the movie out by that date.
No news yet on whether Milla Jovovich will reprise her role as the zombie butt-kicking Alice, but it would be a fair guess to say she will be. After all, the last movie (2007's RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION) ended with…well, go watch it if you haven’t already.
I usually think that most movies should stop at trilogies and anything after that will usually stink up the theater. RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE will most likely follow this trend, but that’s okay with me. I don’t watch these movies for anything other than to see a hottie kill a zombie a couple hundred times. Plus, I like to think back on those nights when I first played Resident Evil 2, and the raw fear of the unknown I felt as I wandered through the hallways of the Raccoon City Police Station.
