Rinko Kikuchi joins PACIFIC RIM
As Comic-Con approaches, one of the films that most attendees are most excited about happens to be the upcoming Guillermo del Toro flick, PACIFIC RIM.
Featuring a cast that so far includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Charlie Day, all three will be joining del Toro and writer Travis Beacham at the film’s upcoming Comic-Con panel. However, they won’t be the only ones. Collider has revealed that BABEL star and Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi has joined the film’s cast in the lead female role.
PACIFIC RIM will be one of a few films Legendary Pictures will show off this year, including PARADISE LOST, SEVENTH SON, and MASS EFFECT, all of which should make Comic-Con quite interesting, despite the lack of any huge comic book or massive summer tent pole projects.
PACIFIC RIM is one of the most interesting projects around, be it based on the film’s cast which is top notch, or del Toro, one of the most visionary filmmakers around. Kikuchi is a really gifted actress, so hopefully this film lives up to all the potential.
