One of the most interesting recent documentaries over the past few years has come to us thanks to director RJ Cutler.  THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE looks into the world of fashion and particularly that of Anna Wintour, and has since launched Cutler’s career into the stratosphere.

He’ll next helm the upcoming film FABULOUS NOBODIES, an adaptation of the Lee Tulloch novel, but now, according to Deadline, he’s found a brand new film.

The outlet is reporting that he will direct MAYNARD & JENNICA, an adaptation of the 2007 Rudolph Delson novel. The film will follow “a Gotham-based filmmaker who meets and has a relationship with a California transplant with stars in her eyes.” The cool thing about the novel is that it’s told from the point of view of 35 people, including the likes of friends, a macaw, and even dead family members.

Personally, I think the premise is massively interesting. I love the idea of learning about a relationship through the eyes of those surrounding it instead of those directly involved with it, so while it remains to be seen as to just what type of take Cutler will go with on this project, there are all the makings for a romantic comedy that’s really special.  What do you think?
