Wait, I thought this was Morgan Freeman’s job? Was he too busy?

According to a recent tweet from director James Gunn (via The Playlist) rocker turned filmmaker Rob Zombie will be voicing God in his upcoming film, the rather hotly anticipated film SUPER.  The film stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Kevin Bacon, Liv Tyler and Nathan Fillion, and is a post-modern take on the superhero genre, that follows a normal guy, who becomes The Crimson Bolt after his wife leaves him for a drug dealer.

Personally, while this isn’t a make or break piece of news, this definitely doesn’t hurt.  I adore Gunn and his work, particularly films like SLITHER (and his screenplay for the remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD is genuinely fantastic), so this is one I can’t wait to check out.

The film is set to bow and the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, as part of the Midnight Madness portion of the festival, and will be one film to definitely keep a keen eye on.
