Robert Downey Jr Gets Busy
Robert Downey Jr is finally getting the long awaited recognition he deserves. Now that Iron Man is an overwhelming success, 500 million dollars worldwide so far, everybody wants to be in the Downey business. Given that Downey's character Tony Stark was a billionaire playboy, which he played so well, he is the number one choice to play Hugh Hefner in Brett Ratner's biopic of the Playboy founder. Then, Twentieth Century Fox wants him for Travis McGee based on John D. MacDonald's popular detective series, Warner Bros. wants him for Guy Ritchie's update of Sherlock Holmes , and Gary Ross of Seabiscuit fame, wants him for his fantasy/comedy Dog Years at Universal. Downey should be able to fit in one, if not two, of these projects before he has to start Iron Man 2 which is set to begin filming in March 2009 for a May 2010 release. For now you can check Robert Downey Jr out in Iron Man which is currently in theatres, Tropic Thunder later this summer, and The Soloist with Jamie Foxx in early Autumn.
