It was only a matter of time really.

According to THR, Robert Downey Jr. has left the upcoming Alfonso Cuaron film, GRAVITY, a move that has seemingly been in the works for weeks now.

Apparently it is indeed a scheduling conflict, that finds the actor far too busy to either jump into production, or wait to do so somewhere down the line.  The part itself wasn’t all that big, but it apparently was big enough to warrant this type of scheduling conflict.  At this point, this obviously isn’t good for the film, but it doesn’t necessarily damn the project either, particularly knowing that Sandra Bullock appears to still be in talks to star in the film.

That said, Robert Downey Jr., doesn’t appear to be slowing down. The outlet also states that he’s looking to star in a big screen take on How To Talk To Girls, based on the hit book penned by 9-year-old author Alec Greven.  The film joins OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, THE AVENGERS, IRON MAN 3 and the currently shooting SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 as projects the actor has on his ever growing slate.  Too bad Gravity couldn’t make the cut.
