Robert Downey Jr. to leave Alfonso Cuaron’s GRAVITY?
Well, this could get pretty interesting.
According to Deadline, due to massive delays pushing the upcoming Alfonso Cuaron film, GRAVITY, and subsequently convoluting Robert Downey Jr.’s apparent schedule, the actor may have to leave the project.
The outlet is reporting that the actor, who has THE AVENGERS and OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL looking to start production soon (not to mention SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 still in the midst of production), might end up leaving the film. Downey was set to shoot the film whilst on break from SHERLOCK HOLMES 2, but now the film has been pushed back until the break between the end of SHERLOCK and the start of THE AVENGERS.
However, the film doesn’t appear to be ready to shoot that soon, but with star Sandra Bullock looking to lobby to keep the actor in the role, it is up in the air as to Robert Downey Jr.’s involvement in the hotly anticipated film. Personally, I hope he stays aboard the film, but at this point, just as long as the film gets made, I don’t frankly care. I’m sure RDJ will be able to find time to shoot the film, but as long as anyone shoots the damn thing, this writer will be happy.
