Robert Redford planning new Watergate documentary for Discovery Channel

April 3rd, 2012

Every great name has to return to the well at least once during their career, right?

The New York Times is reporting that Robert Redford, probably best known for his iconic turn in the film ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN (although he is truly one of the most storied actors of his generation, truth being told), will be returning to that story for a new Discovery Channel documentary.

Entitled ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN REVISITED, the two hour documentary will look at the Watergate scandal through interviews with those directly involved by breaking down the scandal and its subsequent impact on politics, news, and media in general.

Now, while Redford’s THE CONSPIRATOR was a dreadfully dull pile of slop, this is something I can’t wait to see.  Redford allegedly became privy to some new information about the case through his interviews, so it will be interesting to see fresh, comprehensive look into this story at this stage in the game.  It’s set to bow in 2013, and I can’t wait.
