With his long-awaited return to the SIN CITY franchise, A DAME TO KILL FOR, coming our way relatively soon (I'll believe it when I see it), director Robert Rodriguez is finally appearing to have some sort of interest in bringing us some of the projects that he’s been talking endlessly about for a while now.

According to THR, who recently chatted with the outspoken filmmaker, Rodriguez revealed that he’ll “go right into” his long-talked about remake of FIRE AND ICE upon completion of SIN CITY 2.

The film, based on director Ralph Bakshi's 1983 animated feature of the same name, is nearly finished being scripted. Rodriguez stated that, “we’ve got it pretty much 70 percent there.”

Personally, I think this project is something he’ll be perfect for and he appears to be really close to the material. All of his films seem to be passion projects, but this one even more so. I am a huge fan of Bakshi's original film  and think that Rodriguez’s love of genre-trappings could make this thing something really great.
