Best known for creating the now iconic TV series, The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling lived quite a life. A former paratrooper and demolition squad member, Serling joined the radio business and ultimately used his life knowledge to turn himself into a TV writer, and his work on Twilight Zone.

Well, according to Deadline, Serling is about to get his day on the big screen.

The outlet is reporting that Stanley Weiser, who co-wrote Oliver Stone’s WALL STREET, will pen a biopic based on the life of Rod Serling. Serling not only created Twilight Zone, but he followed that up with a TV anthology series Night Gallery, and even co-wrote PLANET OF THE APES with Michael Wilson.

As a fan of much of Serling’s work (I’m not the biggest PLANET OF THE APES fan), this is definitely a film I can’t wait to check out. Serling was a talented man, and one that lived a truly eventful life, giving us some of the most creative TV of his era. Given the right creative team, this could really live up to Serling’s name, and be one of the better biopics around.
