Ryan Gosling joining Dan Fogelman comedy?
For someone who once starred on "The Mickey Mouse Club," you'd think Ryan Gosling would have more comedic projects on his plate. Maybe he's just burnt out from classic "MMC" fare as this little sketch, maybe he just thought he'd reached the pinnacle of comedy back in those halcyon days of M-I-C-K-E-Y. But now it looks like Gosling just might be going back to his roots, as it's now being reported that he has joined the cast of the new Dan Fogelman/Steve Carell project we told you about back in January.
The as-yet-untitled comedy is set to be directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (I LOVE YOU, PHILLIP MORRIS and BAD SANTA) and was written by Fogelman (BOLT, CARS, and FRED CLAUS). The project revolves around "a father whose life unravels as he faces a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children."
There is no word on what Gosling's role would be, though The Playlist does sagely guess he could potentially play a grown-up kid o' Carell.
Though the film is slated for a 2011 release date, there's currently no word on filming dates or additional casting.
