With shooting on a new ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW-inspired episode of his hit TV series, Glee, complete, Ryan Murphy appears to be interested in bringing the legendary cult classic back to the big screen.

Deadline is reporting that Murphy is looking at directing a remake of the 1975 musical for Fox 2000, with Peter Chernin producing.

Now, the outlet says he “hasn’t committed, but he has met,” which could mean millions of things, not necessarily that he’ll helm the film. He currently has an adaptation of the Larry Kramer play The Normal Heart, that will is set to star Mark Ruffalo, but this could very well take precedent or follow that one up.

Personally, while I’m not a fan of the original film at all, or much of the recent run of Glee, I do have to say, there isn’t a single person that I think is better suited for a remake of this project than Murphy. It’s a perfect project for the director to helm, so hopefully this one doesn’t fall apart.
