Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper to buddy up for cop flick
Reynolds & Cooper could join the legendary ranks of Gibson & Glover, Murphy & Reinhold, and Turner & Hooch as the two ab-tastic actors have signed on to star in a buddy cop film from screenwriter Sheldon Turner (UP IN THE AIR). The film would pair Reynolds and Cooper as fellow friends, fathers, and police detectives that must join forces with their own fathers (who also happen to be ex-cops and ex-partners) to solve a case.
No director is currently attached to the film that also doesn't yet have a home. Uber producer Neal Moritz is producing, whose Original Film company is under Sony's umbrella. With that said, it's very possible that the project - once titled BLOWBACK - could end up there.
It is said that it is intended to be LETHAL WEAPON-esque crossing into "edgier R-rated territory." If they really wanted to be edgier, they'd cast Mel Gibson as Bradley Cooper's father and Danny Glover as Ryan Reynold's father.
