We are just a little over two weeks past the untimely death of legendary film editor Sally Menke, and the dedications and tributes are still flowing in.

The long time creative companion of Quentin Tarantino, it appears as though other Tarantino cohorts have felt effected by this news.

Today we have (via The Playlist) a new track from Wu-Tang patriarch The RZA, composer of part of the KILL BILL: VOLUME 1 score, and it’s available for free for us to download.  Here’s what he had to say about the song:

“I dedicate the song ‘Gone’ to my friend Sally Menke and its my gift to her memory. I feel music is the best gift I can give and I’m giving it away to Wu-Disciples for free in her name. Who ever like the song can send a blessing of positive energy to Sally’s family and her legacy. Peace.”

For those wondering, the Quentin Tarantino Friars Club roast, which was postponed after Menke’s death, has found a new date, and will take place on December 1. However, the event will no doubt have a somber tone to it, as no one seemed to play as big of a part in Tarantino’s career than his right hand woman, Sally Menke.

Download the song here. Go rewatch Tarantino’s canon. Rediscover why Sally Menke was one of the best film editors of her era.
