Sandler+Rock+Spade+Schneider+James=1 funny movie
I often think to myself, "What would it be like if you could take all of the funniest men in Hollywood and put them all together in one movie?" I knew that this would probably never happen, but it looks like Columbia Pictures is giving it a shot. Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James are all set to star in a movie written by Sandler and Fred Wolf. Even Dennis Dugan, of DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, is already attached to direct.
I don't think these guys are the "dream team" of comedy (This team is missing Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Steve Martin...) but I do think they're all extremely funny and entertaining. I am very interested to see just how this project can work having 5 leading men, but again these guys might all compliment each other well. In the end, it's going to come down to the script, which I hope is strong but not too childish, thoughtless, and full of pointless crude material. The basic story of this movie is about 5 old friends from high school reuniting for a 4th of July celebration after 30 years of parted ways. Again I do think this movie has potential, I just hope it is well executed.
