With his seven year long career as governor of California now over, apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger was dead serious when saying that he came to lead off the Critic’s Choice Awards this past Friday by saying that he stood before the attendees as “an unemployed actor begging for work.”

Now, thanks to an interview with Krone (via Empire), the actor confirms that he’s not only looking at scripts, but has three that he may ultimately choose from.

While he doesn’t talk at end about the film’s in question here, we do discover quite a bit about one that has apparently been around for some time now:

“One topic/script, which I considered a long time ago before governor, is delighting me particularly. In it, I would play an older soldier, who gets the order at the ending of the war to kill a bunch of kids. But he doesn’t do it and get them to safety at the risk of his life and it has all kind of adventure. This script is based on a true story!”

Rumors have begun circulating around the web that this could be a film entitled WITH WNGS AS EAGLES, based on the novel Osterman’s War, penned b James J. Cullen. The film was going to be his follow-up to BATMAN & ROBIN, but apparently fell through the cracks.

Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of the actor, it will be interesting to see what we get out of him in the coming years. He’s a really warm guy with a great sense of humor, so hopefully it won’t be a bunch of mindless meat head roles. Then again, that’s what Schwarzenegger has become, so who knows. All I do know is that this is one career reboot I can’t wait to see unfold.
