Scott Pilgrim Soundtrack

“Music is such an integral part of the Scott Pilgrim books that myself and Nigel have been working on the soundtrack for nearly two years. This collection of songs represents an amazing span of artists. Some inspired Bryan Lee O'Malley in the creation of the comic, some ‘soundtracked’ our lives while making the movie and most excitingly, some of our favourite artists contributed new songs that are performed in the movie. It was a thrill to work with Beck, Metric and Broken Social Scene on the original soundtrack and I think you will enjoy the loud fruits of this collaboration.” Edgar Wright

Movies will always be my first passion in life. I love movies. But, music has always been my secret weekend lover. So when movies and music combine, my worlds collide into a ménage à trois of sexy, sexy, awesome time. And so, in walks the SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD soundtrack. The music is obviously an important part of the overall feeling of the film and fans of the comics awaited the arrival of the soundtrack listing with anxious ears. Now, thanks to Pitchfork, we've got the soundtrack details. Check it out after the break...

Did you feel that? That's the feeling of your joy exploding out of your joy chamber and encasing you in a warm womb of happiness! Where to begin? Beck. As a fan of Beck, I couldn't be more excited to see him get the largest amount of album space dedicated to his inventive musical mind. According to various sources, Beck laid down the music for the SEX BOB-OMB tracks while the actors themselves placed the vocals. Broken Social Scene is also a band getting the royal treatment on the SCOTT PILGRIM soundtrack. Crash and The Boys are hilarious musical additions to the comics and should be even more awesome on screen thanks to BSS. Metric takes the reigns as The Clash at Demonhead and the song "Black Sheep" is already available for your listening pleasure on the bands Facebook page. To cap it all off, Plumtree's 1997 hit that inspired the comics, "Scott Pilgrim", gets its own little nook on the album as well.

Overall, I could not be more excited for this album to be released on August 10th by ABKCO records. Does this track list help your excitement for the film or is the music not your stuff? Leave your thoughts below!
