Second JONAH HEX trailer looks and feels just like the first
Coming into the summer season, there will always be countless discussions of what summer films should, and shouldn’t be missed.
One film that is desperately trying to make its name into the former is the upcoming cinematic take on the cult DC Comics cowboy, Jonah Hex. With the first trailer making its premiere a few weeks back, TV spots for the film have been all over the television, in between basketball games, shows on SpikeTV, and even the occasional news broadcast featured the sexy stylings of Josh Brolin’s co-star, Megan Fox.
Well now we have the second full length trailer, and that’s about all I can say for it. The new, over two minute long trailer does very little to make this film look anything more than mediocre, and it gives us even less new footage. It features little to no new glimpses at the film, especially when the TV spots are taken into account.
The film should be good. It stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender and even the bloody brilliant Michael Shannon, but still looks like nothing more than a poorly crafted action film. The effects look poor, the acting looks even worse, and while the campiness could be intentional, it’s far too subdued to be considered an attempt at a B-Western, which makes the film just seem unbearable.
Any who, enough of my rant, decide for yourself when the film opens July 18.
