I'm a huge fan of the Muppets. I grew up watching the puppet celebrities as a kid, as my parents could watch as well and still get a few laughs out of the more mature jokes they tend to slip in. This almost universal appreciation of the Muppets has spawned roughly a half a dozen films and a television show. However, there hasn't been a Muppet production for several years. Now, we're finally getting to see a few snapshots of what the THE MUPPETS will look like.

Check out the photos, after the jump.

As I said earlier, I'm a huge fan of the Muppets. Kermit is the ultimate good guy who finishes first in the end, Statler and Waldorf satisfy my inner cynic, and Gonzo always comes in with some surefire laughs at all the right moments. I've seen MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND several dozen times and the TV show holds a place near and dear to my heart. Naturally, seeing these set photos gets me even more pumped to see the finished product.

THE MUPPETS is scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas 2011.
