Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand’s MY MOTHER’S CURSE will be in theaters next year
Paramount Pictures and Skyline Productions have given MY MOTHER'S CURSE a wide release date of March 30, 2012. The film stars Seth Rogen as an inventor and Barbra Streisand as his mother as the pair hit the road so he can sell his latest invention and reunite Streisand with a long lost love.
MY MOTHER'S CURSE is written by Dan Fogleman, who wrote the screenplays for CARS and TANGLED, as well as some other kid-friendly hits. The film will be directed by Anne Fletcher, who has previously directed 27 DRESSES and THE PROPOSAL.
I think that this film features a lot of potentially fascinating combinations. I think that Rogen and Streisand will be an interesting pair for a road movie. It's hard to picture the two in a film together, but I look forward to see how their humor can play off of each other. Also, I think the writer/director combo of Fogleman and Fletcher provides an interesting look into where this movie may go. With Fogleman's background of family-friendly films, and Fletcher's of romantic comedies, I'm curious to see where MY MOTHER'S CURSE will end up on the spectrum.
