When George Carlin taught us about the seven dirty words, he forgot a very important one: 'sequel'. Many a great films have had their reputations ruined by mediocre sequels, just look to THE MATRIX or CADDYSHACK II as evidence. Still, when Seth Rogen talks about making a sequel to his movie PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, one of the funniest comedies of 2008, my heart leaps with joy!

According to Rogen, “of all the movies we’ve done, that’s the only that one I would actually like to do a sequel to and we talk about it.” This wouldn't be the first time he's revisited the characters from the movie. At this year's Oscars, Rogen and James Franco reprised their hilarious pot-head rolls for a comedy short directed by Judd Apatow and co-starring famed cinematographer Janusz Kaminski (you know, the guy who works with Spielberg). Rogen even joked about possible having Kaminski be a villain in the sequel, which is a silly idea, but hilarious nonetheless!

So why should we be excited about a sequel that could possibly ruin PINEAPPLE EXPRESS for us? Because we're talking about Seth Rogen! The man is a brilliant comic and if anyone could do the movie justice, he could.

Really? I always thought the general consensus to Pineapple Express was “meh”.
