Seth Rogen

THE GREEN HORNET is now one of the film world's hottest comic book heroes, thanks to the adaptation that is currently in the works starring the talented funny man, Seth Rogen. Production has been chugging along, still shooting for a December 22, 2010 theatrical release date, although the film has had its bumps in the road (including when production halted when a mysterious metal object was found and believed to be a bomb).

Despite the minor setbacks, this movie is on track to be quite the blockbuster, and the holiday premiere won't hurt either. Read on to see what Rogen has to say about the pressure he feels to make this movie good, and to find out what surprise actor has been added to the cast.

"I will blame Gondry if it sucks... No, I’m just joking. No, we are all in it, you know. I take a huge amount of the pressure. I understand that... I understand that it’s my face on it, you know, when it literally comes out even if, you know, even if it sucks for another reason, people will blame me and that’s why I have to be so involved to try to make sure that it doesn’t suck. But honestly a lot of your work is done before now. It’s hiring the right people and making sure all the elements are in place. And then, you know, trusting them to do what you hired them to do. But I’m there all the time so I can make sure everything is going well. There’s a lot of pressure. I understand that. I’ve been talking about this movie for years and if it sucks then no one will be more disappointed than me, believe me.”

I cannot imagine the pressure one feels when they undertake a massive project that already has an immeasurable fan base. Expectations are high. IRON MAN and THE DARK KNIGHT have set the bar unbelievably high for other comic-to-film adaptations. Audiences will expect a captivating story, kick-ass action, and laughs galore. So I definitely see where Rogen is coming from. For his sake, as well as the film's, I hope THE GREEN HORNET does well.

Now, on a different note, a surprise name has been added to the cast list. It is unknown what character this actor will play, but I'm not too sure anyone cares. Many will just be happy to see this person's mug on the big screen once again. The actor that I am referring to is none other than Edward Furlong. Now, some of you might be scratching your head, attempting to recall who this fellow might be. Well, think back to 1991 when a little film called TERMINATOR 2 blew audiences away? Okay, now do you remember that cool kid with a squeaky voice and unlimited attitude, destined to save the world from the machines? Well that, my friends, is Edward Furlong. He has been long overdue to once again appear in a big-budget blockbuster, and I say, "Welcome back, Edward."
