Not content with simply unleashing BIRDEMIC upon unsuspecting audiences and masterminding the return of Richard Stanley to horror filmmaking, Severin Films has already amassed a terrific library of home video releases including STONE, THE SINFUL DWARF, HARDWARE, CRUCIBLE OF TERROR and PSYCHOMANIA. Now, Severin has provided the details for its first release of 2011, Alejandro Jodorowsky's SANTA SANGRE.

Like other Jodorowsky classics EL TOPO and THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, SANTA SANGRE (which, even after having seen it several times, I can only say is something about a circus performer, his armless mother and bloody revenge) is impossible to accurately describe and is more felt/experienced than idly watched. It is the kind of breathtaking marriage of sights and sounds that deserves the best presentation in your home and Severin films, as per usual, has packed this release with a bevy of incredible special features. The DVD/Blu-ray release is slated for January 25, 2011 and is available for pre-order now.

Bonus features included on the Blu-ray and 2-disc DVD edition:

• Feature Audio Commentary w Jodorowsky & Journalist Alan Jones
• Deleted scenes w Jodorowsky commentary
