Sharlto Copley confirmed for OLDBOY

Joshua Brunsting

May 2nd, 2012

After nabbing the lead role in DISTRICT 9, which launched him to a major role in THE A-TEAM, actor Sharlto Copley has had a relatively light work load as of late. However, that’s about to change.

With his name tossed in the same breath as the pending OLDBOY remake from director Spike Lee, Deadline now confirms that he will star in the film as the main villain, Adrian Pryce. He’ll face off against Josh Brolin’s lead character, Joe Douchett, who will be along with Elizabeth Olsen in the film.

Personally, while I still have an insanely tough time truly anticipating this film, this cast is brilliant. I think all three leads here will do wonders with this type of story, and honestly, Lee is an inspired choice for director. I’m a huge fan of Lee as a filmmaker, and think that this gritty type of project could be just what his career needs at this point. Hopes are high.

What do you think?
