One of last year’s biggest surprises, at least for this writer, had to be the sheer quality of Guy Ritchie’s hit film, SHERLOCK HOLMES.

Well, according to THR, one of the film’s scribes, Anthony Peckham, will follow his HOLMES script and Clint Eastwood film, INVICTUS, with the screenplay for the upcoming Jack Ryan film, MOSCOW. The film will “tell the story of Ryan’s early career, set in Russia with terrorist acts as a backdrop.” With Chris Pine in the lead role and Jack Bender directing, the film is set to shoot sometime early next year (at least all signs are pointing to that), and personally, I can’t wait. Sure, while I didn’t really dig his work on INVICTUS, HOLMES shocked me with how well written that film was, and honestly, I have no interest in the Jack Ryan franchise, so hopefully this will spark something that will actually be worth a bit of time.
