Shiloh Fernandez

Catherine Hardwicke has found her male lead for THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD.  The film is a gothic horror retelling of the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood and relative newcomer Shiloh Fernandez has been cast to star opposite Amanda Seyfried. Fernandez earned himself the role of Peter, an orphaned woodcutter who becomes the romantic interest for Amanda Seyfried's character. Seyfried will play a woman in a medieval village being terrorized by a werewolf.

This appears to be a long awaited big break for Fernandez who has been on the cusp for some time now.  He auditioned but ultimately was passed on for the roles of Edward in the TWILIGHT films, as well as the lead in SPEED RACER. Fernandez's acting credits include the films CADILLAC RECORDS and SKATELAND and roles on the television shows Gossip Girl, Jericho, and United States of Tara.

THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD was written by David Johnson.  Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is producing the film for Warner Bros.  Production on the film will begin this summer in Vancouver.
