One of the most hotly anticipated projects that the rest of 2011 has to offer is David Cronenberg’s latest outing, A DANGEROUS METHOD. Starring Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley, and Viggo Mortensen, the film follows the story of Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud, as their relationship begins to have issues following the arrival of the beautiful Sabina Spielrein.

However, the film had yet to find a domestic distributor. That is, until today.

Sony Pictures Classics has announced that they have picked up the U.S. rights to the film. The film, currently in post-production, has apparently already seen a trailer cut for it, and earlier this week, The Playlist revealed that the site adangerousmethodfilm.com redirected to SPC’s homepage, so the writing has appeared to have been on the wall for some time.

Personally, I love the choice by SPC, as they are the perfect ones to handle this project. It is an immensely intriguing film with a top-notch cast and one hell of a great director behind it, so one couldn’t ask for better hands to be all over it.
