Sony proves their faith in BATTLE: LOS ANGELES
Finding the perfect release date for a film is a very important aspect to its release that sometimes gets overlooked. For those of us who notice, we always found it pretty strange that Sony was planning on releasing their Sci-fi action movie BATTLE: LOS ANGELES in February. February is usually a slower month for cinema (box office wise), which makes it an odd place for an action film. Sony has officially moved it to a much more appropriate date, leading many to believe they could have an unexpected hit on their hands.
The film will be released on March 11, 2011, the second weekend in March, a very highly sought after spot for this kind of film. This is the same weekend that 300 was released, ultimately leading to its major financial success.
Just like everyone else, my interest in Aaron Eckhart grew immensely after the release of THE DARK KNIGHT, and with him in the lead of this movie it is an easy sell. Sony's faith in the project also piques my interest further, it is officially time to get stoked.
