Soundtrack details for THE RUNAWAYS
Whenever music biopics hit screens, it's always interesting to see who sings what, how much the actors contribute to the soundtrack, how many original recordings are included, and how all that frames up into the official soundtrack itself. With THE RUNAWAYS coming out next month, it's just about time we get those answers.
Up top is the official soundtrack cover art for THE RUNAWAYS soundtrack (calling up that first poster image we saw back in January). The cherry bomb of music inside includes a pretty even split between new recordings by Dakota Fanning (as Cherie Currie) and Kristen Stewart (as Joan Jett), and the original tracks by The Runaways and Jett herself. There's also some classic jams from the Sex Pistols, David Bowie, and MC5, sure to add a level of musical veracity to the whole set. I can't wait to see what Ms. Loring has to say about this one.
