Soundtrack for Spike Jonze’s new film, I’M HERE, gets a release date
It goes without saying that I'M HERE, the latest cinematic effort from one Spike Jonze, is an absolutely breathtaking masterpiece of a short film.
Well, one of the best parts of this melancholy stunner is its pitch perfect soundtrack. Now, thanks to Chocolate Industries (via Pitchfork and The Playlist), you will finally be able to buy the soundtrack to the Sundance smash, and it features one hell of a lineup.
Amongst the nine track release you get songs from the likes of Animal Collective (who themselves have just seen the release of their first film, ODDSAC), Gui Boratto, Sleigh Bells, as well as a new song from The Lost Trees (a collaboration between the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Aska Matsumiya), and two songs from the film’s score (done by half of the awesome group NASA, Sam Spiegel, who also happens to be Spike’s brother).
Personally, while the film itself is absolutely amazing, I do have to say, the soundtrack seems to be just as good as its big screen papa. It hits October 5, and while we don’t know yet just how the film itself will see the light of day, this will be the perfect thing to hold us fans of the film over until it gets a chance to be on our shelves.
Here's the full track lineup:
1. The Lost Trees - "There Are Many of Us"
2. Gui Boratto - "Beautiful Life"
3. Sleigh Bells - "A/B Machines"
4. The Lost Trees - "The Past Is a Grotesque Animal"
5. Animal Collective - "Did You See the Words"
6. Girls - "Hellhole Ratrace"
7. Sam Spiegel - "There Are Many of Us" (Electric Dream Version)
8. Sam Spiegel - "Lonesome Robot Theme"
9. Aska Matsumiya - "Y.O.U."
