SPIDER-MAN reboot getting a young Peter Parker and Billy Connors
This project continues to get more and more interesting.
Just days after Rhys Ifans was confirmed not only as the upcoming SPIDER-MAN villain, joining Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in the film's cast, but as The Lizard, Moviehole is now reporting that a casting call has been sent out for a Caucasian boy age 4 to 6 to play a young Peter Parker, as well as a kid between 8 and 11 to play Billy Connors.
For those who don’t know, Billy Connors is the son of Doctor Curt Connors, Ifan’s character, and is a cancer survivor who nearly died at the hands of his father during a rage-fueled attack from his alter ego.
Now, while I’m not all that keen on a young Peter Parker being cast (probably for some sort of flashback showing him with his parents or being raised by his aunt and uncle), I do think that the addition of Billy Connors can prove to be an interesting one. Sure, it may end up being something unimportant, but one would have to imagine that the character will be used in some way in the film’s narrative.
