SPY KIDS 4 in 4D with Aroma-Scope because yeah, that’s what we all asked for

As if 3D wasn’t enough.

According to the USAToday (via /Film), director Robert Rodriguez is set to take his next film, SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD, into the fourth dimension, by adding aroma-scope to his project. The film will utilize cards similar to that of a scratch and sniff card, where eight scents are used to “enhance” the viewer’s experience.

So now, instead of having to complain about dimly lit, poorly used 3D, we get to see what directors can do with smells. Great. Because that’s exactly what we’ve all been wishing for and dreaming about.

Personally, for a kid’s film, I really couldn’t care any less about this. It will give the kiddies something to do while watching the film, which is fine given the type of film we’re talking about here. However, for a more adult film, I don’t think that this will ever take off in any form. Could it? Sure. That said, it just doesn’t feel like anything that the public is generally excited for.

What do you think?
