STAR TREK sequel officially underway
Are you ready to boldly go again? Because Damon Lindelof is, at least if his Twitter account has anything to say about it.
According to a tweet sent out yesterday by the writer/overall genius, which read “Vaction officially over. Ready to boldly go.” Now, read into that what you will, but apparently he’s gotten to work on writing the sequel to last year’s massive hit, STAR TREK, with the team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The film officially hits theaters two years from now, on June 29th, 2012.
While I wasn’t a massive fan of J.J. Abrams helmed actioner, it did give me just what I wanted to see during last summer. It was a big, massive sci-fi adventure, featuring great performances, and some of the most impressive action direction I’ve seen in a long time. Now, I also found it to be one of the year’s more forgettable films, so hopefully the trio will be able to give us an experience that is both action packed, and a bit more memorable. This is one project I sure as hell can’t wait for.
